Flagstone patios are a great way to create a more natural look while adding to your outdoor living space. All flagstone patios are made with natural stone available in a variety of types and colors. Flagstone can be installed 2 ways-either as a loose cut patio, or as a tight cut patio.
Loose Cut patios are hand laid natural flagstone with gaps left between the pieces (generally 2"-4"). This leaves the natural shape of each flagstone intact, and allows for mulch or creeping plants to fill in the gaps.
Tight Cut patios are also laid by hand, but each piece is cut onsite to fit the piece next to it like a puzzle. They are more labor intensive to install, but there are no gaps between the stones for mulch or creeping plants.
